The purpose of our social enterprise is to offer employment and a route out of homelessness to its participants, while generating funds to support Mendicity’s core services.

Our social enterprise offers an income to its participants through part-time employment. It is a rehabilitative social enterprise, supporting each person in their recovery from substance misuse. We also support each person with access to education and training, long term housing, and skills for employment after their employment with us.

We create handmade and unique products in the workshop. Our wooden products such as window boxes, stools and dog beds, are made using recycled wood. We also make copper art, lino prints and greeting cards.

We rely on the sales of these products to generate an income so that we can continue to support people through the workshop. To make a purchase click here to visit our shop.

Our coffee truck, Hard Ground, is located at our premises on Island St and is part of our social enterprise. Employees are fully trained and certified baristas. All coffees are €2.75 and our opening hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 2:30pm. We proudly sell J.J. Darboven’s Eighty9 No. 1 blend at Hard Ground.
