For more than 200 years, Mendicity has been there for people with nowhere else to turn. Today we are open 81 hours a week, offering hot meals, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, GP healthcare and a warm, safe place to spend the day, along with one-to-one support to help people take their next step out of homelessness.

Our doors are open to everyone. Most of the people who come to us are sleeping rough. Many are looking for work and want help to get there. Every month we support 8 to 10 people into employment. Their circumstances are hard, but they don’t have to be permanent.

We rely on donations to fund our service and keep our doors open. Every gift, whatever its size, goes directly to meeting people’s needs today and building pathways towards a better tomorrow.

What your gift makes possible

• €5 provides a hygiene pack: socks, underwear, a razor, a toothbrush and deodorant
• €10 provides one person’s visit to Mendicity: a hot meal, a shower and a load of laundry
• €15 provides free Wi-Fi for everyone using our service for a whole week
• €20 provides someone with phone credit and a charger for the month
• €50 provides 150 loads of laundry
• €70 provides full wraparound support for three people: a meal, a shower, laundry, clean clothes, a hygiene pack, phone charging and one-to-one casework to begin their journey forward
• €250 helps two people gain Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates, with the work boots, high-vis and hard hat they need to start work in construction
• €500 provides 20 Leap Cards for people getting to and from work in their first weeks of a new job
• €1,000 provides every meal served at Mendicity for a full week

Your support does more than meet an urgent need. It helps us welcome people without conditions, get to know them, connect them with housing, health, training and employment, and walk alongside them as they progress. Through our social enterprise, including The Liberator Café by Mendicity and the Hard Ground coffee truck, people coming from homelessness gain training, paid work and the confidence to build a future.
