A large majority of people that present to us are sleeping rough or are without any form of income. We provide our clients with clean clothes, access to showers, toiletries and laundry facilities. We rely on the support of The Hygiene Bank and public donations of specific items. Please not that these facilities are subject to availability.
Clothes
As half our clients are without any income and over 90% are male, we keep a small stock of men’s clothing, which we can distribute to clients as needed. With limited space within our service, we gladly accept donations of the following men’s items only:
- New socks & underwear
- Warm coats & jackets
- Runners (size 7 upwards)
- Baseball caps / wool hats
- Tracksuit bottoms & hoodies
- Men’s toiletries (razors, shaving foam, deodorant)
We are not accepting any other items not listed above. If you wish to donate any of the above items, please contact 086 0203859 or email info@mendicity.org to arrange a donation.
Shower Facilities
During the pandemic, our services expanded to meet the need of those sleeping outside, to have access to showers, clean towels, and toiletries. We have continued to provide this facility for those who use our service, particularly those sleeping rough. We provide showers during our day service hours and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For more information, please contact 086 0203740 or email foh@mendicity.org
Laundry
Like the shower facilities, our laundry service is also an expansion of supports due to the pandemic. We provide this facility to those who use our service, particularly if they are sleeping outside, or without any income. The laundry facilities operate as drop-off/collect service, within our day service hours. This is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to availability.
For more information, please contact 086 0203740 or email foh@mendicity.org
Toiletries
We have a wide range of toiletries and hygiene products at Mendicity. We provide these in partnership with the Hygiene Bank. Products are limited to availability.
